Staff Sergeant Marie Marquis is originally from Fulton, Mississippi. Prior to joining the Soldiers’ Chorus in 2024, SSG Marquis was a finalist in the 2024 Lyndon Woodside Oratorio Solo Competition, a national finalist in the 2022 National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards Competition, an Encouragement Award winner in the 2020 Camille Coloratura Awards, and a winner in the Joy In Singing Debut Artist Awards. She continues to perform as a soloist, chamber musician, and choral singer in the Washington D.C. area. SSG Marquis holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Arts from Bard College and Bachelor’s degrees in Music and in French from Peabody Conservatory and Johns Hopkins University, respectively.
